When you think of a local artist who do you think of? Is it someone you know who writes music for fun or someone who has released their music but doesn’t have many followers?

Here in Knoxville, there are a bunch of local artists that I will be showing you but today, in particular, is a woman who is from Knoxville and has really started to build her career in music.
Musician's Home Setup
Some of you may know her or have listened to her music if you listen to WUTK The Rock, UT’s College of Rock. Her name is Zoë Nutt.
Zoë was born and raised right here in Knoxville and has been in love with music for almost her entire life.
Zoë is a very unique artist. When she went to Nashville for college, she knew for sure that being an artist is what she wanted to do. In 2018, she headed into the recording studio to record an album but was stopped by something she never expected.
Her hearing started to decline, which landed her a life-changing surgery. While the surgery was a success, Zoë had to learn how to hear again with a cochlear implant and hearing aid.
Zoë has about 238 monthly listeners on Spotify, and might I say her music is AMAZING! By far my favorite song by her is “How Does It Feel” from her album How Does It Feel which was released last year. What perfect thing to do in quarantine than to write music!
She has two albums out, and several singles. Compared to 3 big artists, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish, she has a long way to go to get to where they are but according to her analytics, for a local artist, she is doing amazing in the industry. I believe one day she will be number one on the Spotify charts.
Writing about Zoë Nutt has been an amazing experience. I found a new artist that I have never heard of before, and LOVED her music! How amazing is it to find a local artist and absolutely love her music?
I encourage you to look her up and fall in love with her music just like I did. She is definitely an inspiration to artists who are just starting out.
